    Brain Waves new studio setup

01 · Back in the studio

The studio is finding its rhythm.

    Hi Reader,

The last note was about starting again. This one is about reconnecting.

The basement is no longer an empty room. The machines are talking to each other again, cables are finding their place, and new music is slowly taking shape. The room is still evolving, but it already feels like the BW creative space.

Moving changed the surroundings. It did not change the need to make music.

    My new studio setup.

The new setup follows a simple path: create the sound with the machines, shape it by hand, add space and texture, then record everything into Ableton Live.

The equipment names matter less than the journey: sound is created, mixed, processed and recorded. The goal is to keep the process physical, raw, direct and musical.

    03 · New music

    Reflection EP — now everywhere.

Reflection EP was released through Stereotype Records. Until now, it was available exclusively on Bandcamp. The full EP is now available across all major streaming platforms.

The record brings together Diptych and Reflection—two sides of the same idea, built around deep grooves, warm movement and a more introspective side of the Brain Waves sound.

    What I’m listening to now.

Two records currently shaping the atmosphere around the studio.

Raw Pitch record artwork by Mountain People

The Mountain People — Raw Pitch

Melancholic yet driving—raw house music with patience, movement and a timeless feel.

    Stay record artwork by Tour-Maubourg

    Tour-Maubourg Ensemble — Stay

Warm, soulful and beautifully arranged—the kind of track that stays in the room after it ends.

    05 · On the horizon

Two compilations—and a new EP taking shape.

    November 2026 · Digital
How Much Do You Think Your Fiction Work? will appear on an upcoming compilation. More details will follow when the label announces the full project.

    January 2027
Tribute to AJ has been accepted for a forthcoming compilation. More details will follow when the label announces the full project.

    Also in progress
I am working on a new Brain Waves EP in parallel. A short private SoundCloud preview will be shared exclusively with this community.

    06 · From the community

    383 downloads—and counting.

Still There began as a simple free download. It has now reached 383 downloads.

Beyond the number, what matters is knowing that the track travelled into new rooms, headphones and late-night sessions. Thank you for giving it a life outside mine.

    A new beginning

    01· Welcome

    Thank you for being here

    02 · A new chapter

    From Morocco to Canada

My family and I recently moved from Morocco to Canada. A new country, a new home, and a different rhythm.

It was a big change, driven by family, work, and the desire to build and discover something new.

Leaving wasn’t easy. It came with a strange mix of excitement, uncertainty and curiosity.

    04 · Studio note

    Slowly taking shape

An empty space is slowly becoming a studio again. I couldn’t bring my entire setup with me, just a few machines that have become an important part of my creative process.

    Rebuild in Progress

Rebuilding a studio from scratch feels like a rare opportunity.

Instead of recreating what I had before, I’m trying to rethink everything — the space, the layout, and the way I work.

Keeping what worked. Changing what didn’t.
